While most race car drivers converged on Sears Point for the NASCAR event, a few die-hard farm families gathered late in the day at Napa Valley Expo for the First Annual Wine Country Tractor Pull, sponsored by the County Farm Bureau.

Napa Patch contributor Israel Valencia showed up not with a 4x4 but a Nikon D70, and supplied us with these great pictures of the event. If you recognize yourself or a friend, leave a note on the photo. Or tell us what you thought of the event in the comments below.

More about the history of tractor pulls in this article in the Register.

Were you at the Tractor Pull? Tell us in the comments.

Wow, Great turnout and some gorgeous tractors. We're sorry we missed it. Unfortunately for us, we only just heard about it the day before. Won't miss it next year though!

Ya it figures a redneck like you would go to something as stupid as a tractor pull. Yeehaw! Your "country folk" are embarrased by people like you. I bet you have hoedowns in your back yard too....

Hey, Doug, isn't that a little harsh? Ed was feeling good, and you just insulted him. What's wrong with a backyard hoedown, anyway?

I'm a fan of many kinds of music -- especially LIVE music. See you at Napa Porchfest!

Sorry Louisa but this man named Ed Reichstein is playing judge and jury in a case where I was taken down and arrested by a Napa police officer by the name of "Wade" and he was not there to witness it. He called me a liar and says that my story is not true but there were over 50 people who witnessed it. If he retracts his statement, I will retract mine but I will not tolerate being called a liar when I am telling nothing but the truth. Live music is fine and so are hoedowns but slander is not and I am simply standing up for myself against this assuming Napa Patch poster. My integrity and credibility will not be compromised, period. i hope that you understand. Thank you Louisa!

Hi Doug, I started here and worked back to the earlier comments on the other thread, http://patch.com/A-kxYz
I believe I understand your feelings and I've assigned our most experienced reporter to follow up on your arrest.
It's just that as the host here, I wish the dispute hadn't spilled over to the tractor pull.

I never said your story was untrue and that you were liar so don't put words in my mouth. All I said was that most people don't get arrested for just standing there. You were not slandered and your intgrity and credibility are still in tact. I wish you the best with your case.

Thank you Ed and I hope you understand that I had to respond as a matter of principal. The facts will come out as this case progresses and more people step up to state their testimony. The police department and more specifically, the government employees that make up their police force have long overstepped their authority and the city government is ripe with corruption. It is time for them to face the truth about written law that I have been presenting to them for over 5 years now. I have been silenced by city officials and third party administrators that have effectively insulated the city from liability in the past. It is in our best interest to help one another and work together and I reach out to you my friend and hope that you accept my apology. Forgiveness and love are the keys to our freedom and if we espouse these ideals, freedom will knock at our door. A great weekend is in store for everyone and I wish all an excellent one as well!
