Why Do You Love Your Home?
The results are in! Readers' comments and photos on why they fell in love with their homes.
Photo 1: Joe and Beverley Shotwell. We bought our house because it came with something most houses do not have, a water tower. It's now the "Shotwell" ski lodge, a cozy place to curl up with a book, or enjoy a glass of wine by the fire.
Photo 2: Nick and Kim Cavanaugh. These friends built their house to take advantage of it's most precious resource, surrounding nature. Kim summarized their home in one word, "Serenity."
Photo 3: Julia Allan and Oliver Ramsey. Julia told me they love the oddities that come from the fact that their home was originally a Napa train depot. It's the perfect home Julia say's, "To showcase my eclectic collections."
Photo 4: Susan Bergland. "I love the windows, and the natural light in my home."
Photo 5: Julie Dalrymple. Julie was attracted to the cozy little reading nook. "My books have a way of relaxing me, the view out the window of the trees provides peaceful serenity and my cat, Gatsby, can often be found hanging out on his window perch."
Photo 6: Indra Fortney and Ali Paasimaa. We love the open airy feeling of our exposed beam ceiling and we are utterly besotted with the view.
