Napa Valley Wine Train
800-427-4124
The three-hour Wine Train journey begins at the Oxbow District and travels north to St. Helena, and then it returns back to Napa. The experience harkens old Westerns, when dining on trains was the norm. The trip is taken on restored vintage rail cars with each table situated at window's side. These 1915 Pullman coaches are a luxurious fine dining experience. Chef, Kelly Macdonald, prepares a cuisine with the freshest ingredients, farm-raised meats, and seasonal fare. The trip is not just for sitting pretty, though. While on board, guests are welcomed to partake in wine tastings in the wine tasting car which features more than 30 boutique wines. Additionally, if one were to inquire about the culinary whats and hows of Chef Macdonald, one is encouraged to take a stroll into the kitchen and get some tips. In the summer, the Silverado car features an open car experience with out glass and lots of fresh air. The Wine Train is scheduled for departure at 10:20am and returns at 2:30pm daily. Friday and Saturday dinner is served from 5:30pm till 9:30pm.
