About Amy
I am a transplant to California from Pittsburgh, PA and have grown to appreciate living in Napa over the last 15 years. A graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law, my pragmatic side has been plagued by a longing to be a writer since I was a kid. My most memorable experiences at UC Berkeley were during undergrad, when I scrambled to devise an individual major that let me enroll in courses at the Graduate School of Journalism (thank you Neil Henry and William Bennett Turner), even though I knew I was too practical to give up on becoming a lawyer to write.
After many practical years in public service as a municipal attorney, I look forward to giving Patch readers an insider's view of local government. I also can't wait to learn more about this city I live in, as I write about what makes Napa a community that's far richer and deeper than its reputation as a tourist destination.
